Engine Cooling Fan Clutch (Fluid Type) for Toyota SUVs & Trucks ?

Why you need it

This fluid-driven fan clutch keeps engine temperature in the safe zone by driving the radiator fan only when heat rises. It saves power at cruise, boosts airflow when towing or climbing, and protects the head gasket, transmission cooler, and A/C performance. Perfect choice when the stock clutch is weak, noisy, or stuck. ❄️?️

How it works

Inside the hub is silicone fluid and a thermostatic bimetal coil. As coolant and under‑hood air heat up, the coil opens a valve that lets fluid couple the hub to the fan. The hotter it gets, the harder it grabs, spinning the fan faster. When temps drop, the valve closes, shear decreases, and the fan freewheels to reduce drag and fuel use.

If the clutch is bad

  • Overheating at idle or slow traffic ?
  • Weak A/C at stops
  • Loud constant roar or no fan noise at all
  • Poor towing performance, loss of power, higher fuel use
  • Coolant boil-over or warped head if ignored

Tech notes

  • Check for oil seep around hub and freeplay.
  • Fan should roar on cold start briefly, then quiet.
  • Replace fan shroud clips and reuse correct fan bolts with threadlocker.
  • Verify belt tension and radiator fins are clean.

Compatibility

  • Land Cruiser
  • Tundra/Sequoia
