High-Heat Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor for Mitsubishi Diesel

Why this part is needed

This EGT sensor protects the turbo, DPF, and catalytic system by tracking exhaust heat in real time. The engine computer uses its signal to control fueling, EGR, and DPF regeneration. With a healthy sensor, you get stable power, lower emissions, and longer turbo and aftertreatment life.

How it works ️

Mounted in the exhaust stream (pre‑turbo or near the DPF), the probe changes electrical resistance or voltage as temperature rises. The ECU reads this signal hundreds of times per second and fine‑tunes injection timing and regen cycles. High‑temp calibration ensures accurate data under hard loads, towing, and off‑road use.

What happens if it breaks ⚠️

  • Check Engine light, limp mode
  • Poor fuel economy, rough running
  • DPF regen blocked or too frequent
  • Overheating risk for turbo and manifold
  • High smoke and emissions
