Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGT) for SUV Powertrains
This precision probe monitors exhaust heat and reports to the ECU in milliseconds. Accurate temperature data lets the system balance fueling, boost, EGR, and DPF regeneration. The result: protected turbocharger and catalyst, stable power on climbs or while towing, better fuel economy, and lower emissions. If your SUV works hard, this sensor is a key safeguard against costly heat damage.
How it works
Inside the tip sits a high-heat thermistor that changes resistance with temperature. The ECU reads the voltage signal and reacts instantly—reducing fueling under high load, managing turbo speed, and scheduling DPF burn-offs only when safe. The stainless probe threads into the exhaust stream; a heat-rated, shielded harness delivers a clean plug-and-play connection.
Why replace
Heat cycling, soot, or frayed wiring can make readings slow or incorrect. A fresh unit restores exact control, prevents overheat, and keeps regeneration timing precise—saving the turbo, DPF, and wallet.
Failure symptoms ⚠️
- Check Engine light, limp mode, weak power
- Poor MPG, rough or smoky acceleration
- Frequent/failed DPF regens, hot exhaust smell
- Cooling fan runs long, codes like P242A/P2033
Fitment notes
Direct-thread OE geometry for factory bung; apply high-temp anti-seize, torque to spec, route lead away from the manifold, then clear fault codes. Built to withstand 900°C+, with tight-tolerance sensing and durable braided lead for long service life. ✅
