Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve β Clean Power, Lower Emissions β»οΈ
This EGR valve recirculates a measured amount of exhaust back into the intake. By lowering combustion temperature, it reduces NOx, smooths idle, and helps fuel economy. A tight-sealing pintle and fast actuator give stable performance under heat and soot. Built to OE geometry for an easy, direct fit and long service life.
Why you need it
It keeps emissions legal, protects the turbo and DPF, improves cold starts, and cuts diesel knock. Replacing a worn EGR valve restores throttle response and prevents carbon build-up in the intake.
How it works
The ECU commands the actuator to open and close the valve by load and temperature. The pintle meters gas flow; a position sensor confirms movement. At part throttle it opens to cool the burn; at wide open it shuts for full power. Quality materials resist corrosion and sticking.
When it fails β οΈ
Stuck open: rough idle, hard starts, black smoke. Stuck closed: higher EGT, pinging, poor economy. Common signs include hesitation, limp mode, P0400-series codes, soot around the flange, and faster DPF clogging. Replace and perform idle relearn; always use a fresh gasket β
