Engine Oil Filter Assembly – Clean Lubrication, Long Engine Life ️
Why you need it
This factory-spec filtration unit keeps your engine safe by trapping abrasive particles and sludge before they reach bearings, timing chains, and cam phasers. It maintains stable oil pressure, supports smooth cold starts, and extends oil life. Designed for Infiniti/Nissan applications, it’s a key layer of protection for daily driving and spirited runs.
How it works
Inside, a multi-layer cellulose/synthetic media screens fine debris while a strong center tube resists collapse. An anti-drainback valve stops oil from draining back overnight, so galleries fill instantly on startup. A calibrated bypass valve opens only under extreme restriction or cold, thick oil, preventing starvation. A molded gasket seals the housing to prevent leaks and pressure loss.
What happens if it’s broken or clogged
Clogging raises pressure drop and starves the top end—expect start-up rattle, VVT faults, and dull throttle response. A torn element recirculates grit, scoring journals and pump gears. A cracked case or hardened seal leaks oil, triggers a warning lamp, and can lead to bearing knock or chain stretch if ignored. The repair bill can dwarf the cost of timely replacement.
Service tips
Replace at every oil change (about 10,000 km or as specified). Pre-oil the rubber seal, hand-tighten to spec, and ensure the old gasket isn’t stuck to the mount. Use correct viscosity oil for best filtration and pressure.
