Engine Oil Level Guide Tube ?️
This part is the metal guide tube that holds and directs the engine oil dipstick into the correct position inside the crankcase. It is needed for fast, clean, and accurate oil level checking during service or daily inspection. A correct oil reading helps protect Subaru engines from low oil pressure, bearing wear, overheating, and costly internal damage.
How It Works ?
The dipstick slides through this guide and reaches the oil pan at the designed depth. The tube keeps the stick aligned, sealed, and stable while the engine vibrates. It also helps prevent dirt, water, and road dust from entering the engine through the dipstick opening.
What Happens If It Is Broken ⚠️
If the guide is cracked, bent, loose, or corroded, the dipstick may not seat properly. This can cause wrong oil level readings, oil mist leakage, burning oil smell, or contamination inside the engine. In some cases, the dipstick can become hard to insert or may pop out under crankcase pressure.
