Engine Oil Pump Assembly ?οΈ
This component is the heart of your engine lubrication system. It is needed to push oil from the sump through the filter and into critical engine galleries, so bearings, camshafts, timing parts, and piston cooling areas stay protected under all loads.
How It Works βοΈ
Driven by the engine, the pump creates steady oil flow and pressure. As RPM rises, it increases delivery, while an internal relief valve helps prevent excessive pressure. Clean, pressurized oil forms a thin film that stops metal-to-metal contact and carries heat away from moving parts.
What Happens If It Fails ?
A weak or damaged pump can cause low oil pressure, ticking lifters, bearing knock, overheating oil, and rapid wear. In severe cases the oil light may come on, the engine can seize, and a full rebuild may be required. Always check for sludge, worn pickup screen, and correct oil grade during installation.
