Engine Oil Pickup Strainer Assembly for Nissan Performance Platforms ️
This precision oil pickup strainer sits in the sump and delivers clean, bubble-free oil to the pump. Built with a rigid steel neck and fine mesh screen, it maintains stable pressure under daily use and hard cornering. Ideal when freshening a motor, turbo upgrade, or after sludge contamination.
Why you need it ️
Oil is the engine’s lifeblood. The pickup screen blocks gasket scraps, RTV, and metal flakes before they reach the pump and bearings. Correct inlet height and a tight seal keep the pump from inhaling air, protecting cams, turbo, and crank journals.
How it works
Submerged in the pan, the pump’s suction draws oil through the mesh. The formed cup spreads flow to reduce cavitation, while the flange and O-ring (or gasket) ensure an airtight path. A support bracket controls vibration at high RPM.
If it’s damaged or clogged ⚠️
Expect flickering oil light, lifter tick, turbo whine, low idle pressure, metal glitter in oil, or bearing knock. A cracked tube, torn screen, or loose seal can starve the engine in seconds—overheating, spun bearings, or seizure may follow. Replace whenever the pan is off or after a failure.
