OEM Oil Pickup Strainer for Subaru Engines
This factory-style oil pickup and screen sits in the oil pan and feeds the oil pump with clean lubricant. It protects the engine lubrication system by catching large debris, sealant crumbs, and sludge before they reach bearings or turbo. A healthy pickup keeps stable oil pressure during hard acceleration, sharp cornering, and cold starts.
Why you need it ✅
With age, the mesh can clog, the pickup tube may crack, or the O-ring hardens and leaks. Replacing this unit restores steady pressure, quiets lifters, and extends engine life. Designed for precise Subaru fit and flow—no guesswork, no mods.
How it works ⚙️
The tube sits near the sump floor. The pump draws oil through the fine stainless mesh, then sends it through galleries to bearings, cams, and turbo. A tight O-ring seal prevents air entry that can cause cavitation and pressure loss in the lubrication circuit.
If it fails ⚠️
- Oil pressure light flicker or low reading
- Rattle at start-up, bearing knock, turbo whine
- Oil aeration, overheating, accelerated wear
Install tips
Use a new O-ring, inspect baffle, torque bolts evenly, keep RTV away from the screen, and prime the system before first start.
