Engine balancer chain for Nissan — smooth running, less vibration

This precision chain is the heart of the balance module. It keeps secondary vibrations in check so your compact Nissan four‑cylinder feels refined. You need it to reduce noise, harshness, and cabin buzz, especially at cruising rpm. A healthy balancer drive protects mounts, accessories, and even fasteners by cutting shake that builds up over time.

How it works ⚙️

Driven off the crankshaft, the chain synchronizes counter‑rotating shafts inside the balance unit. These shafts spin at twice crank speed to cancel out forces. Guides and a hydraulic tensioner maintain correct chain tension, while engine oil lubricates the pins and rollers. Correct phasing equals silky operation, stable idle, and longer engine life.

What happens if it fails ❗

Stretch or worn links cause a metallic rattle on cold starts, rough idle, and buzzing between 1,800–3,000 rpm. If the chain jumps a tooth, the shafts go out of phase, producing severe vibration, increased wear on mounts, and possible warning lights from knock or misfire detection. In extreme cases: damaged guides, metal debris in oil, and low oil pressure risk if the module shares drive with the pump.

Tech tips ️

  • Replace chain, guides, and tensioner as a complete set for OE‑level reliability.
  • Use quality oil and timely changes to prevent stretch and sludge.
  • Align timing marks; pre‑prime the tensioner; verify phasing before first start.
  • Ideal OE‑spec replacement for noisy or vibrating engines; buy with confidence.
