Engine Oil Scavenge Pump Assembly
This unit is built to pull excess engine oil out of return areas and move it back to the sump, keeping oil flow stable under hard driving and high RPM ?️. It’s needed to prevent oil pooling, reduce aeration (foamy oil), and support steady lubrication where the main pump alone may not clear oil fast enough.
How It Works
Driven by the engine, the pump creates suction on the scavenge side and pushes collected oil through internal passages back to the oil pan. By clearing trapped oil, it helps the crankcase breathe better and keeps oil pressure behavior more consistent.
Why Replacing a Worn Pump Matters
If the pump is weak, scored, or sticking, oil can linger where it shouldn’t. That may lead to oil starvation at the pickup during cornering, extra heat, and noisy valve train or turbo lubrication issues. In severe cases, bearing damage can happen quickly ⚠️.
