Engine Timing Tensioner Stopper ?

This OE-grade retainer keeps the timing chain system under control on popular Honda engines. The piece limits and supports the hydraulic tensioner stroke, keeping steady preload on the chain ⛓️. With precise fit and hardened material, it reduces chain slap, protects guides, and stabilizes camshaft timing.

Why you need it βœ…

Accurate valve timing means smooth starts, clean idle, and strong fuel economy. This small part prevents over-travel of the tensioner, especially during cold starts, extending the life of the chain, guides, and sprockets.

How it works ?️

Mounted alongside the timing tensioner/guide, it acts as a mechanical stop and backup latch. When oil pressure is low, it holds the set position; as pressure rises, it allows controlled movement so the chain stays tight without shock loads.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Expect metallic rattle at start-up, buzzing near the timing cover, rough idle, weak acceleration, poor MPG, and possible fault codes (cam position or misfire). In severe cases the chain can skip a tooth, causing no-start, bent valves, or major engine damage.

Pro tips for installation

Replace with the tensioner or during chain service. Verify timing marks, inspect guides, prime the tensioner, and torque bolts to spec. Never reuse a deformed stopper.
