Variable Timing Cam Phaser 46‑Tooth for CR‑V Diesel ⚙️

This VTC cam phaser keeps your engine’s valve timing precise, giving strong low‑end torque, cleaner emissions, and better fuel economy . It’s essential on modern Honda diesel CR‑V engines where timing must shift smoothly across the rev range.

Why you need it

Correct cam timing improves pull, reduces turbo lag, stabilizes idle, and lowers consumption. It also prevents chain shock and protects valvetrain parts.

How it works ️

The ECU commands an oil control valve. Pressurized oil moves an internal rotor against the housing, advancing or retarding the cam. The 46‑tooth sprocket drives with the timing chain, locking at start-up for quick oil pressure build. Hardened vanes and tight clearances ensure quiet operation.

If it’s failing ⚠️

Expect rattling on cold start, rough idle, flat spots, higher fuel use ⛽, smoke, and Check Engine lights (often cam timing codes). Long-term neglect risks chain wear and mis-timing that can damage valves.

Tech notes

Use clean low‑SAPs oil, replace the seal/O‑ring, set engine at TDC, verify chain marks, and torque the center bolt to spec. After install, perform cam/crank relearn with a scan tool for best results.
