Engine Intake Manifold Sealing Gasket
This sealing gasket sits between the intake manifold and the engine head, creating an airtight path for incoming air. It’s a small part with a big job: keeping vacuum stable and airflow measured correctly by the sensors. When the seal is right, the engine idles smooth, accelerates clean, and fuel economy stays on target ✅
Why this gasket is needed
Heat cycles, vibration, and fuel vapors slowly harden the material. Once it loses elasticity, tiny gaps appear and the engine starts pulling “false air” from outside the manifold.
How it works
The gasket compresses when the manifold bolts are torqued down. This compression fills micro-imperfections on both mating surfaces, stopping vacuum leaks and preventing unfiltered air from entering the intake stream 🔧
