OEM-spec manifold seal for Nissan classics

Why this part is needed

This manifold gasket seals the joint between the cylinder head and intake/exhaust manifold. A tight seal keeps exhaust gas in the runners and unmetered air out of the intake, stabilizing fuel trims, torque, and emissions. With a proper gasket, the engine breathes as designed, idle stays smooth, and catalytic and O2 systems work efficiently.

How it works

Built from multi-layer steel with heat-resistant graphite, the gasket compresses evenly under the correct torque. Seal beads fill micro gaps in the mating faces, holding clamp load through thousands of heat cycles. This maintains flow velocity, protects valves, and keeps sensor readings clean for precise ECU control.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Leaks cause ticking or hissing on cold start, exhaust smell in the bay, soot at the flange, rough idle, and lean codes (e.g., P0171). Power drops, fuel use rises, and the cat and O2 sensors age faster. Long-term leaks can overheat valves, warp flanges, crack the manifold, and seize studs, turning a simple gasket job into major repair.

Fitting tips βœ…

Clean mating faces, check flatness, follow the factory torque sequence, and use new hardware. Do not add sealant unless the service manual specifies. After a full heat cycle, recheck torque if applicable.
