The intake valve is a critical internal engine part that controls when fresh air (or air-fuel mix, depending on system) enters the combustion chamber. Itβs needed to keep cylinder filling correct, maintain compression balance, and deliver stable power across all RPM. When the camshaft actuates the valve train, the valve opens at the right timing, then seals tightly against its seat to hold pressure during compression and combustion.
How It Works ?
As the piston moves down on the intake stroke, the valve opens to let air flow in. On the next strokes it must close fully to prevent blow-back. Proper sealing and correct stem movement reduce misfires, improve throttle response, and help protect the catalytic system from unburned fuel.
