This engine intake valve is a key internal part that controls how fresh air (and air-fuel mix) enters the combustion chamber. It is needed to keep cylinder filling correct, maintain compression balance, and support smooth power, clean idle, and good fuel economy.
How It Works βοΈ
The valve moves up and down inside the cylinder head, guided by the valve guide and sealed by the valve seat. The camshaft opens it at the right time, and the valve spring closes it fast to prevent blow-by. A correct seal helps the engine build compression and burn fuel efficiently.
If the Valve Is Worn or Broken β
A bent, burnt, or pitted valve may not seal, causing low compression, misfire, rough idle, hard starting, loss of power, and higher fuel use. In severe cases it can damage the piston, seat, or cylinder head, leading to costly engine rebuild work.
