Front Crankshaft Oil Seal for Nissan Engines ️

This front main seal keeps engine oil inside the timing cover and away from the crank pulley and belts. It’s a small part with a big job: controlling leaks, keeping the drive belt clean, and protecting the crank sensor area. Choose an OEM-grade seal for long life and quiet, dry operation.

Why this part is needed βœ…

Without a healthy crank oil seal, hot oil seeps past the crank nose, misting the pulley and splashing the lower engine bay. That means belt slip, rubber swelling, mess on the undertray, and slow oil loss. Replacing it restores proper sealing and helps maintain stable oil levels.

How it works

A metal-cased elastomer ring with a spring-loaded lip rides on the crankshaft. Micro grooves and a light oil film create a hydrodynamic barrier, while a dust lip shields against road grit. Quality seals use heat-resistant FKM and precise OD fit to the timing cover.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Signs include oil behind the crank pulley, belt squeal, burning smell on hot surfaces, and damp lower cover. Continued driving risks belt contamination, extra wear on accessories, and low oil leading to engine damage.

Installer tips

Inspect crank snout for grooves; polish or sleeve if needed. Press seal square and flush, spring toward oil. Lightly oil the lip, verify PCV health to avoid pressure, and torque the pulley bolt to spec.
