Engine Timing Chain Assembly
This precision chain set keeps your engine’s valve timing locked in sync with the crankshaft. It is needed to ensure the pistons and valves move in the correct order, so the engine starts easily, runs smooth, and delivers proper power and fuel economy. Unlike belts, a chain is built for long service life, but it still wears with mileage, oil neglect, or dirty lubrication.
How It Works ⚙️
The chain rides on sprockets and is guided by rails while the tension system holds the correct tightness. As the crankshaft turns, the chain drives the camshaft(s), keeping valve opening and closing exactly timed at every RPM. Clean oil is critical because it reduces friction and slows chain stretch.
When It’s Worn or Broken
