Why you need it β
The crank is the center of engine power. Correct journal size and straightness protect bearings, hold stable oil pressure, and keep vibration low. A fresh, true-running unit prevents knock, hot oil, and hidden metal debris.
How it works
Connecting rods clamp to rod journals while main journals ride on bearings with a thin oil film. Counterweights cancel shaking, and the front/back ends drive timing and flywheel. Proper clearances and surface finish keep the oil wedge strong across the rev range.
