Right Intake Camshaft Sprocket Assembly for Subaru
This precision cam timing sprocket is a key part of the engine’s valve timing system. It is needed to keep the intake camshaft synchronized with the crankshaft, so the engine breathes correctly at every RPM ✅. When timing is accurate, you get smoother idle, better fuel economy, strong pull, and lower emissions.
How it works ⚙️
The sprocket mounts on the right-hand intake camshaft and is driven by the timing belt/chain system. Its teeth guide the belt/chain, holding exact cam position. On engines equipped with variable valve timing, the sprocket body also supports controlled cam advance/retard, helping torque at low speed and power at high speed.
Why replacement matters
