This precision piston assembly keeps your engine sealed, cool, and balanced for long life. It uses heatβtreated aluminum alloy, CNCβcut ring grooves, a molyβcoated skirt, and a fullβfloating wrist pin for smooth, quiet operation.
Why this part is needed
The piston seals the combustion chamber, transfers force to the crankshaft, and controls the oil film on the cylinder wall. Correct diameter and weight class protect the block, keep compression high, and maintain fuel economy.
How it works
Across intake, compression, power, and exhaust strokes, the rings seal gases while the oil ring scrapes excess oil. The coated skirt reduces friction, and internal mass plus the wrist pin link the connecting rod for stable motion. Heat flows through the crown into the cylinder for cooling.
What happens if itβs worn or damaged
Expect hard starts, loss of power, and misfire from low compression. Blowβby leads to blue smoke and high oil use; piston slap causes knocking on cold starts. Continued driving can score the bore, harm the catalyst, and even cause seizure β οΈπ.
Tech notes for install
Measure bore and clearance, lightly hone, check ring end gap, orient rings and arrow to front, oil the pin, and torque fasteners to spec. Replace rings and pin clips; refresh oil and gaskets. Gentle breakβin recommended.
