    Engine Valve Lifter (Hydraulic Tappet) for Subaru

    How it works

    Inside the lifter is a tiny oil-fed chamber. Engine oil pressure fills it and creates a self-adjusting cushion that removes lash between the cam and the valve train. As RPM changes, it continues to “take up” extra gap automatically, reducing tapping noise and preventing harsh metal-to-metal contact.

    What happens if it fails
