Engine Valve Lifter (Hydraulic Tappet) – Quiet, Accurate Valve Control
This valve lifter is a small but critical part inside the cylinder head that keeps the valve train running smooth and quiet ?. It is needed to maintain correct valve clearance automatically, so the camshaft can open and close the valves with precise timing.
How It Works
The lifter rides between the cam lobe and the valve mechanism. Engine oil pressure fills the internal chamber, creating a self-adjusting “hydraulic cushion.” This removes lash (free play), reduces tapping noise, and helps the engine breathe properly at all RPM ranges.
Why Replacing It Matters
