Precision Valve Lifter Bucket for Subaru Boxer Engines ?

This OE-quality bucket tappet keeps your cam-to-valve clearance exact, so the engine breathes right, runs quiet, and makes full power. Built from hardened, ground steel, it resists scuffing at high RPM and holds lash within spec for stable idle and long camshaft life.

Why you need it ?️

Correct valve lash is vital. With the right-height lifter bucket, your intake and exhaust open at the right time, sealing compression, protecting valves, and preventing noisy clatter. It improves fuel economy, emissions, and cold-start manners.

How it works ⚙️

The cam lobe rides directly on the bucket face. As the lobe lifts, the bucket pushes the valve stem to open the valve; when the lobe drops, the spring closes it. Oil films the contact, drain ports return oil to the head, and the bucket rotates slightly to spread wear.

What happens if it’s bad ❗

Expect ticking, rough idle, and misfire. Lash out of spec can burn valves, chip cam lobes, and shed metal into the oil. Power drops, fuel use rises, and the MIL may set for misfire or low compression. Prolonged driving risks costly head and cam damage.

Tech notes ?

Measure and set lash to factory spec. Replace worn buckets in matched positions, inspect cam lobes, and use assembly lube. Keep oil clean; thin or dirty oil accelerates wear.
