Precision Valve Lifter for Subaru Boxer Engines ️

This hydraulic bucket keeps valve clearance correct in your Subaru engine. It holds zero lash between cam lobe and valve stem, so the cam profile opens and closes the valve exactly as designed. The result is quiet operation, stable idle, strong mid‑range pull, better fuel economy, and lower emissions.

Why this part is needed

Proper valve lash protects the cam and valves from hammering and heat. A fresh lifter restores timing accuracy, reduces ticking, and keeps oil control tight in high‑rev driving. It’s a must when rebuilding heads, chasing valve noise, or after cam and spring upgrades.

How it works ⚙️

Engine oil fills the internal chamber and pushes a small piston to take up clearance. The hardened bucket rides the cam lobe; a precision bore and oil channel keep the film strong. With stable oil pressure, the lifter maintains contact, cuts noise, and preserves lift and duration.

What happens if it’s bad ⚠️

Cold or hot ticking, rough idle, misfire, loss of power, and increased fuel use. Long term, you may see cam lobe wear, bent valves, or burnt seats. Metal debris can contaminate oil and damage AVCS components.

Tech tips ✅

  • Pre‑lube and soak in clean oil before install
  • Keep buckets in matched bores; do not mix
  • Torque cam caps to spec; prime oil system
