Intake Valve Guide for Subaru Engine
This precision-machined valve guide is a small but critical sleeve pressed into the cylinder head. It keeps the intake valve moving perfectly straight, so the engine can breathe clean air and make stable power. In boxer engines, tight valve alignment is essential for smooth idle and long head life ✅.
Why This Part Is Needed
Every time the intake valve opens and closes, it slides at high speed inside the head. The guide prevents side-to-side wobble, reduces metal wear, and helps the valve seal correctly on the seat. It also supports proper oil control on the valve stem to limit smoke and deposits .
How It Works
The guide is interference-fit into the cylinder head. The valve stem rides inside it with a controlled clearance. That clearance allows a thin oil film for lubrication while keeping the valve centered, improving compression and consistent airflow.
If the Guide Is Worn or Broken
