How it works ⚙️

The cam lobe lifts the bucket/rocker to open the valve; the spring closes it, seating the face against the seat ring to seal. Heat leaves through the seat and stem into the guide. Micro-rotation and a tapered head profile improve flow and reduce hot spots for long life.

If worn or broken 🚨

Signs include rough idle, misfire, hard start, loss of power, backfire, and low compression. A burnt or stuck valve can scorch the seat and damage the catalyst. If the head drops, it may strike the piston, bending rods and ruining the head—stop driving and test compression/leak-down.
