Engine Intake Valve Replacement

This precision intake valve is a key part of the cylinder head that lets fresh air (or air/fuel mix) enter the combustion chamber at exactly the right moment. It’s needed to keep power, fuel economy, and smooth idle where they should be 🚗.

How It Works

The valve moves up and down in its guide, controlled by the camshaft through the valvetrain. When it opens, the engine breathes in; when it closes, it seals the chamber so compression stays strong. A correct seat contact transfers heat from the valve into the head, helping prevent overheating.

What If It’s Worn or Broken

If the valve is bent, burnt, pitted, or sticking, you may get misfires, low compression, hard starting, rough idle, loss of power, and higher fuel use. In severe cases, a failed valve can damage the piston and cylinder head, turning a simple repair into a major rebuild ⚠️.

Why Replace It Early

Replacing a tired intake valve restores sealing, improves airflow, and helps protect catalytic components from unburned fuel. For best results, pair with proper lapping/seat work and correct valve clearance setup.
