Engine Belt Tensioner Bracket – OEM‑grade Support

This bracket is the solid mount that holds the belt tensioner in the exact working position on your Subaru engine. It keeps the drive or timing system aligned, so the pulley tracks true and the belt maintains the correct load. Built for tight factory tolerances, it prevents belt slip, noise, and premature wear during daily driving or long trips.

Why this part is needed ⛽

Without a rigid, precise mount, the tensioner cannot control belt tension. This bracket locks the geometry, protects bearings, and keeps the belt running in one plane for reliable power to the cams and accessories.

How it works ⚙️

The bracket bolts to the block/front cover and locates the tensioner body and pivot. Its flat, machined faces guide the pulley, allowing the spring or hydraulic unit to react smoothly to load and temperature changes.

When it fails

Signs include belt chirp, frayed edges, wandering, or metallic rattles. Loss of alignment can throw the belt, causing charging, cooling, or power steering loss. On timing systems, a jump in teeth may lead to severe engine damage.

Tech notes ️

Inspect for cracks, bent ears, or oval bolt holes. Replace mounting hardware, torque to spec, confirm pulley plane with a straightedge, and avoid shimming a warped bracket.
