This internal engine part is the heart of cylinder power. It is needed to compress the airβfuel mix and transfer the combustion force into the connecting rod, turning it into crankshaft rotation. When your engine must deliver smooth torque, stable compression, and correct oil control, this component is doing the heavy work every second.
How It Works βοΈ
The piston moves up and down inside the cylinder bore. The wrist pin locks the piston to the connecting rod while allowing a free pivot, so the rod can follow crankshaft movement without binding. Piston rings seal pressure, scrape excess oil, and help control blowβby for cleaner, stronger running.
Why Replacing It Matters β
A healthy piston keeps compression even across cylinders, reduces oil consumption, and prevents power loss under load. Correct fit also helps minimize piston slap noise and supports proper heat transfer to the cylinder walls.
