    Why this part is needed

    The piston seals the combustion chamber, squeezes the air‑fuel mix, and converts the burn into crankshaft power. A correct, round, and balanced piston means quick starts, strong pull on hills, stable idle, and controlled oil use.

    How it works

    On each stroke, rings scrape oil and hold pressure, while the wrist (gudgeon) pin lets the connecting rod pivot freely. The skirt coating reduces friction, and precise crown shape manages heat and swirl. Proper clearances stop blow‑by and keep the cylinder clean.

    If the piston is worn or broken ⚠️

    Expect loss of power, hard starts, blue smoke, high oil use, knocking under load, fouled plugs/injectors, and scored bores. A seized pin can bend a rod; cracked ring lands can destroy the liner—costly rebuilds follow.
