Engine Piston Assembly with Pin

This engine internal part is the heart of cylinder power. It is needed to compress the air-fuel mix and turn combustion pressure into crankshaft rotation. When your engine loses compression, burns oil, knocks, or shows low power, a worn piston or pin area is often a hidden cause.

How It Works βš™οΈ

The piston moves up and down inside the cylinder bore. The wrist pin links the piston to the connecting rod, letting it pivot smoothly as the crank turns. With correct ring sealing and skirt clearance, it keeps compression strong, controls oil on the cylinder wall, and transfers heat into the block for stable running.

What Happens If It Fails

A damaged piston or pin can cause piston slap noise, misfire, heavy blow-by, oil smoke, poor starting, and fast cylinder scoring. In severe cases it may crack, seize, or damage the cylinder head and crank bearingsβ€”leading to a full engine rebuild.

Why Technicians Replace It βœ…

  • Restores compression and engine torque
  • Helps stop oil consumption and blue smoke
  • Prevents further cylinder and bearing damage
