Engine Coolant Thermostat Assembly – OEM Fit
This thermostat assembly keeps your engine at the right temperature ️. It speeds up warm‑up after a cold start, holds a stable operating range for power and economy, and protects the head, gasket, and catalytic converter. A healthy cooling control also improves cabin heater performance and reduces fuel use and emissions. Choose it when the old unit is slow, stuck, leaking, or during timing/water pump service for preventive care.
How It Works
Inside is a wax‑pellet valve. When cold, the valve stays closed and routes coolant through the bypass for fast warm‑up. As coolant heats, the wax expands, pushes a rod, and opens the valve to the radiator. The included seal/O‑ring prevents leaks, and a jiggle pin bleeds air for stable flow. Durable spring and corrosion‑resistant housing ensure long life under pressure and heat cycles.
What If It Fails
Stuck open: long warm‑up, weak heater, rich mixture, high fuel burn, carbon buildup. Stuck closed: quick overheating, boiling, hard hoses, loss of coolant, risk of warped head or blown gasket. Leaks cause hot spots and erratic temperature. Replace at the first sign of trouble ️.
Install Tips
Fit the new seal, orient jiggle pin up, torque housing evenly, refill with the correct coolant, and bleed air. Verify radiator fan operation and check for leaks after a road test.
