Engine Coolant Outlet Connector
This rugged connector links the thermostat housing to the upper radiator hose, sealing hot coolant on its way to the radiator. It is needed to keep pressure, guide flow, and stop leaks so your 4x4βs V6 runs at the right temperature. Built to OEM spec for tight fit and long life, it resists heat, vibration, and corrosion.
How it works βοΈ
When the thermostat opens, coolant exits the engine through this outlet and enters the radiator. The machined seat and O-ring create a leak-free joint; the beaded hose end and clamp secure the hose. Correct geometry keeps flow smooth and avoids hotspots.
What happens if it fails β οΈ
Cracks, warped seats, or corroded nipples cause coolant loss and air ingestion. You may see a sweet smell, green/pink crust, dampness under the clamp, steam after shutdown, unstable temp gauge, weak cabin heat, or overheating. Prolonged use can warp heads or blow a head gasket.
Tech tips
- Always install a new seal/O-ring and quality clamp
- Clean mating surfaces; torque bolts evenly
- Bleed the cooling system to remove air
- Use the correct long-life coolant mix
