Premium Connecting Rod Bearing for Toyota Engines

This OE-grade big-end shell supports the rod on the crankshaft journal, building a steady oil film that protects moving parts at high load and RPM. Made with a steel back and anti-friction overlay, it keeps clearances precise, lowers friction, and stabilizes oil pressure for smooth, quiet running. Ideal for engine refresh, rebuild, or when restoring a Land Cruiser powertrain.

Why this part is needed ️

It prevents metal-to-metal contact between rod and crank. Replacing worn shells stops knock, improves hot-idle pressure, and protects the crank from scoring. Essential whenever journals are polished or ground, or when copper shows on old shells.

How it works βš™οΈ

Two matched halves seat in the rod and cap with a crush fit and locating tangs. With the correct micrometer clearance, engine oil forms a hydrodynamic wedge, carrying the load and cooling the journal. Grooves and oil holes route flow where it’s needed most.

What happens if it’s bad ❗

Knocking under load, glitter in oil, falling pressure, and rising temperatures. Continued driving can spin a bearing, seize a journal, throw a rod, and destroy the block.

Pro install tips ️

Measure journals and housing bores, choose STD or undersize as required, align tangs, lube on assembly, verify clearance with Plastigage, and torque bolts to spec. Prime oil system and use fresh break-in oil.
