    Why this part is needed

    Restore factory compression and oil control with a precision ring kit . Rings seal the gap between piston and cylinder, locking in combustion pressure and scraping excess oil. Fresh rings bring back power, smooth idle, cleaner exhaust, and better fuel economy.

    How it works

    The top and second compression rings expand with gas pressure to seal the chamber, preventing blow-by. The 3-piece oil ring meters lubrication and returns excess oil through drain ports. Correct end gaps and a proper plateau hone help the rings seat quickly ⚙️.

    If the rings are worn or broken

    Expect hard starts, low compression, blue smoke, high oil use, carboned EGR/DPF, crankcase pressure, and fouled plugs/injectors. Ignoring it accelerates bore wear, scuffs pistons, and can force a full rebuild.

    Tech tips for install

    Measure bore taper/out-of-round, set ring gaps by cylinder, keep marks “TOP” up, stagger joints 120°, lubricate lightly, and run a varied-load break-in. Replace hone, stem seals, and check PCV while you’re in there .
