Premium Engine Coolant Pump for Mitsubishi
Why you need it
This pump keeps engine temperature in the safe zone by pushing coolant through the block, head, and radiator. Stable flow prevents hot spots, oil breakdown, warped head, and costly downtime. It is the heart of the cooling loop, made to deliver factory flow on modern Mitsubishi crossovers and sedans.
How it works
A belt-driven pulley spins a hardened shaft supported by a sealed bearing. The impeller builds pressure, sending coolant through galleries and back to the radiator. A precision mechanical seal keeps coolant in and dirt out. Correct vane design prevents cavitation, while OE housing geometry ensures quiet, efficient circulation at idle and high RPM.
What happens if itβs broken
Watch for pink/green drips at the weep hole, sweet smell, low coolant, whining or grinding noise, wobbling pulley, or uneven heatβwarm while cruising, cold at idle. Ignore it and you risk overheating, blown head gasket, warped head, or a seized engine. If the bearing collapses, it can shred the belt and leave you stranded.
Pro tips
Flush the system, install a new gasket/O-ring, torque bolts evenly, and bleed air. Pair with a fresh belt and idlers for long service life. Use the correct long-life coolant to protect the seal and alloy surfaces.
