How It Works ⚙️
The stick slides into the dip tube down to the oil pan. When you pull it out, oil leaves a clear mark between the MIN and MAX lines. This simple mechanical reading is reliable, even without sensors, and is essential after oil changes or long trips.
What Happens If It’s Damaged ?
A bent or wrong-length stick gives false readings. A cracked handle or poor seal can let dirt and moisture into the tube, contaminating oil. If you drive while guessing the level, low oil can cause ticking, overheating, low pressure, and severe engine wear; too much oil can foam and reduce lubrication.
