Why it is needed

A rubber-elastomer core is bonded to rigid steel. Under torque it works in shear and compression, absorbing engine rock during launch, gear changes, and braking. OE-spec geometry keeps the unit centered in the crossmember, with compounds resistant to oil, heat, and ozone.
