Crank Pulley Boss for Subaru Engines 🔧

This precision pulley boss sits at the heart of the crankshaft pulley stack, keeping the pulley and belt drive perfectly centered. It is needed to maintain correct belt alignment and to transfer crankshaft rotation to the accessory drive without wobble. When fitted correctly, it helps protect the crank seal, pulley, and belts from uneven load.

How It Works ⚙️

The boss acts like a locating sleeve and support surface: it guides the pulley into the exact position on the crank snout and provides a solid clamping face when the crank bolt is torqued. This prevents micro-movement between parts, reducing vibration and keeping the belts running true across all pulleys.

What Happens If It’s Worn or Damaged 🚨

A worn boss can cause pulley runout, belt squeal, and repeated belt wear. In worse cases you may see vibration at idle, damaged pulley keyways, or oil leaks from the front crank seal due to side-loading. Ignoring it can lead to accessory failure and costly front-end engine repairs.
