This molded rubber hose is a key link in the engine breathing system. It is needed to move blow-by gases (oil vapor and pressure) from the crankcase to the intake path, where they can be burned safely instead of venting to the atmosphere. ✅
How it works
When the engine runs, a small amount of combustion pressure slips past the piston rings. This hose carries that pressure and vapor through the ventilation circuit, helping maintain stable crankcase vacuum/pressure and keeping seals from being pushed out. Its shaped bends ensure proper routing and a tight seal at both ends.
If the hose is damaged or leaking
A cracked, soft, or loose hose can create a vacuum leak and poor ventilation. You may notice rough idle, unstable RPM, increased oil consumption, oily residue around fittings, fuel smell, or higher emissions.
