Engine Case Oil & Air Separator Plate ️
This small but critical separator plate is used inside the engine case area to control how oil mist and crankcase vapors move. It helps keep lubrication where it belongs while allowing pressure to vent correctly. On high-mileage Toyota V8 and tough-duty trucks, this piece is a quiet “protector” that supports clean breathing of the engine and stable oil control.

During engine operation, the crankcase builds pressure and creates oil splash. The separator guides the vapor flow and reduces oil carry-over into the ventilation path. This prevents oily buildup, keeps sensors and intake passages cleaner, and helps the engine maintain proper pressure balance.
How it works ⚙️
The plate forms a controlled channel inside the case. As vapors pass through, heavier oil droplets are redirected back to the sump while lighter gases continue to the PCV system. Simple design, big effect: less oil mist, smoother ventilation, and steadier sealing performance.
What happens if it’s broken
If cracked, warped, or missing, oil mist can travel where it shouldn’t.
