Engine Crankcase Ventilation Valve Assembly (PCV)
Why you need it
This valve manages blow‑by gases in your engine. It routes vapor from the crankcase back to the intake to be burned, keeping oil clean, stabilizing idle, and lowering emissions. Correct crankcase vacuum also protects seals and reduces moisture and sludge buildup.
How it works ⚙️
At idle and cruise, manifold vacuum opens a calibrated pintle, metering vapors to the intake. Under heavy load or boost, the valve restricts flow to prevent backfire and keeps pressure from pushing past gaskets. The result is steady airflow, proper fuel trims, and a healthier lubrication system.

Stuck open: rough idle, lean codes, oil in intake, fuel smell, higher consumption. Stuck closed: crankcase pressure, oil leaks, whistling, dipstick pop‑out, smoke, sludge, and possible check‑engine light. Prolonged failure can damage seals, turbo (if fitted), and catalytic converter.
