Engine Crankcase Ventilation Valve Assembly ๏ธ
This small but critical ventilation valve helps your Toyota engine โbreatheโ correctly. It is needed to control crankcase fumes (blow-by gases) and route them back into the intake to be burned, keeping emissions low and the engine internals cleaner. โ
How It Works
Inside the unit, a spring-loaded valve meters airflow depending on engine vacuum. At idle/high vacuum it restricts flow to prevent lean running; under load it opens more to relieve crankcase pressure. This keeps seals protected, reduces oil mist build-up, and supports stable idle and fuel economy.
If the Valve Fails
A stuck-closed valve can cause excess crankcase pressure, oil leaks, and sludge formation. A stuck-open valve may create rough idle, whistling sounds, higher oil consumption, and check-engine faults from unmetered air. Ignoring it can shorten gasket life and contaminate the intake system. โ ๏ธ
