Engine Crankcase Ventilation Valve (PCV) — keep your motor breathing right
This precision PCV assembly controls crankcase fumes, sending them back to the intake for clean burn. It stabilizes idle, lowers emissions, and protects seals and gaskets. A fresh unit restores smooth response and fuel economy
Why you need it
During combustion, blow‑by gases slip past the rings. Without a metered vent, pressure builds, pushing oil past seals and creating sludge. The PCV valve meters flow so the engine breathes under all loads while keeping the air‑fuel mix correct.
How it works
Inside is a calibrated orifice with a spring‑loaded plunger. At high vacuum (idle/cruise) it partly closes to prevent a lean mix. Under low vacuum (acceleration) it opens wider to purge vapors. In a backfire it snaps shut, acting as a one‑way check.

Tech tips ✅
Replace every 60–100k km or when contaminated. Inspect hoses and grommet, fit arrow toward manifold vacuum, and seat fully to avoid air leaks. A healthy valve often rattles when shaken; no rattle may mean sticking.
