Premium Engine Connecting Rod Bearings for Subaru Boxer ️

Keep your flat-four smooth and quiet with a fresh set of rod bearings. These shells support each connecting rod on the crankshaft, keeping the crank spinning on a thin oil film. They are vital during high RPM, cold starts, and hot runs, when load and heat are highest.

Why this part is needed

Over time, bearings wear from mileage, dirty oil, detonation, or low pressure. Replacing them restores proper oil clearance, stabilizes oil pressure, reduces knock risk, and protects the crank journals during rebuilds or performance upgrades.

How it works

Each shell has a steel back, copper-lead layer, and soft overlay. With correct torque and crush, it locks into the rod, forming a round bore. Pressurized oil creates a hydrodynamic film, so metal does not touch metal, even under load.

If worn or failed ⚠️

Expect low oil pressure, metallic ticking, rod knock, copper glitter in oil, and rising temps. Continued use can spin a bearing, score the crank, bend a rod, or destroy the block.

Tech notes ✅

Measure crank journals, select proper grade, check clearance with plastigage, use clean assembly lube, and follow factory torque/angle specs.
