Premium Engine Piston Ring Kit ?
This high-precision piston ring kit restores cylinder sealing in Subaru boxer engines. Designed for tight tolerances, it brings back compression, reduces oil burn, and stabilizes idle. Ideal for rebuilds, smoking engines, or loss of power after high mileage.
Why you need it ?
Piston rings seal the combustion chamber, control oil on the cylinder wall, and transfer heat from the piston to the cylinder. Fresh rings prevent blow-by, improve fuel economy, and protect the catalyst by keeping oil out of the exhaust.
How it works ?️
The set includes a top compression ring, a second scraper ring, and a multi-piece oil control assembly. Under firing pressure, the top ring expands to seal; the second ring wipes gases downward; the oil ring meters and returns oil via drain slots. Modern coatings resist scuffing and high heat cycles.
When worn or broken ⚠️
Expect hard starts, low compression, blue smoke, high oil use, fouled plugs, misfires, poor acceleration, and rising crankcase pressure. Prolonged use can score cylinders and damage the catalytic converter.
Pro install tips ?
Hone to a 45° crosshatch, measure end gap, set ring orientations staggered, lubricate lightly, and follow torque specs. Perform a careful break-in for perfect seating.
