Piston Ring Set for Nissan Engines ?
This engine sealing kit is required to keep strong compression inside each cylinder, control oil on the bore wall, and transfer heat from the piston to the cylinder. When fitted correctly, it helps the engine start easier, pull harder under load, and maintain stable fuel economy. β
How it works βοΈ
The rings sit in grooves around the piston. As the piston moves, the rings expand outward and ride on a thin oil film. The top rings seal combustion pressure, while the oil control ring scrapes extra oil back to the sump. This keeps power where it belongs and prevents oil from burning in the chamber.
What happens if the rings are worn or broken ?
Damaged rings cause low compression, blow-by gases into the crankcase, blue exhaust smoke, and fast oil loss. You may notice weak acceleration, misfires, hard starting, and rising crankcase pressure that can push oil past seals. Long-term driving can score the cylinder walls and increase rebuild cost.
