This internal engine part is essential for restoring compression and smooth power delivery. The piston rides inside the cylinder and seals against the bore with piston rings, while the wrist pin links the piston to the connecting rod. Together, they convert combustion pressure into crankshaft rotation—turning fuel energy into usable torque.
Why this part is needed ✅
When a piston becomes worn, scored, overheated, or cracked, the engine can’t hold proper compression. Replacing it helps bring back correct combustion, stable idle, and proper oil control.
How it works ⚙️
On each stroke, the piston moves up and down in the cylinder. The wrist pin allows a strong but flexible joint with the connecting rod, keeping movement aligned while handling high load and heat.
What happens if it’s broken ?
A damaged piston or pin may cause knocking, misfire, heavy oil burning, blow-by smoke, low power, and hard starting. In severe cases it can score the cylinder, damage the rod, and lead to full engine failure.
